Spurs set to miss out on highly rated Willian
Yesterday a number of leading news sites reported that Spurs were set to complete the signing of Willian Borges da Silva from Anzhi Makachkala, but, it looks like for the first time in certainly our memory, a rival club has pinched the player from underneath Spurs noses. The most bizarre part is Willian had actually passed his medical at Tottenham’s training ground before Chelsea made their approach.

Evidently this means that Spurs will have to look elsewhere for their Bale replacement, who seems likely to sign for Real Madrid within the next week or so. With the summer transfer window drawing to a close in just over a week, it leaves them with little time to pin-point their next target and more importantly, getting him signed on before someone else tries to!
Chelsea will be delighted that the Brazillian hotshot looks to have chosen them over their London rivals, however this could mean the end for their current player Victor Moses who will most likely be shipped out on loan or even potentially sold permanently. A few Premier League clubs are rumoured to be sniffing around the ex-Wigan man who would be a great recruitment for a host of clubs.
In other news, Arsenal are rumoured to be considering a £45 million bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. It is speculated that if this deal was to go through, Real would then approach Liverpool to sign Luis Suarez who Arsenal have failed in purchasing themselves earlier on in the transfer window.
