Aston Villa – now is the time to be Prepared
‘Prepared’ is the word that has adorned the famous Aston Villa logo for such a long time, and now is the time for the Villa hierarchy to step up and take note.

Most Aston Villa supporters will be pretty pleased with how we have started the season. We have picked up a pretty respectable 10 points from an opening seven games which has included playing the entire top four from last season.
During our next three fixtures we will take on both Everton and Tottenham (last season’s 5th and 6th) but I believe that they are both sides that we can pick up points from.
Everton have managed just a surprising six points so far this season – despite them having a mediocre start when you look at the fixture list. Many teams looked at Everton as a side that could go on and challenge for the top four – and they still could – but so far they have underperformed for reasons I am sure Evertonians would be happy to tell us.
Then we have a very unpredictable Tottenham side who are still trying to get used to the Mauricio Pochettino way of doing things. They do have a return of 11 points but have already dropped points to both Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion.
This is where both players and coaching staff need to equally be ‘prepared’.
One thing I noticed earlier on in the season was that the coaching staff appeared to have done their homework on the opposition and tried to target their weaknesses, so it is vitally important that during the International break they have spent time doing the same.
Then you have the players. At some point during the season so far all that have been involved in the first team have impressed so we need to put the defeats against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City to one side and start our season all over again.
We have the added bonus that Christian Benteke is stepping up his fitness levels and is almost certain to play some part against Everton this coming weekend.
There may be a lot of speculation about the future of our captain Ron Vlaar but right now he is still an Aston Villa player and we need to make the most of this. PhysioRoom.com reports that he will be available for selection this weekend also.
So with the International break allowing us to get vital players back, we have a great chance to build on our impressive start to the season. I just hope everyone involved at Aston Villa are prepared because I certainly am!
