Why are Chelsea FC so rubbish this season?
Chelsea out of the title race and in disarray, with Jose Mourinho potentially about to step down as manager
October 27th, 2015
What a fall from grace this is turning out to be. Chelsea started the season as 13/8 favourites to retain their Premier League crown, although the Blues are now 50/1 and effectively out of the running even before October has drawn to a close.
Jose Mourinho’s position at Stamford Bridge appears to be a perilous one, with the Portuguese having seemingly fallen out with key players such as Eden Hazard and Nemanja Matic.
Things got very ugly at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday as Chelsea sank to a 2-1 defeat, Matic was red-carded in the first half and Mourinho was then sent to the stands at half-time.
Since drawing with 2-2 against Swansea in the opening match and the fall-out that occurred with Eva Carneiro, things have started falling apart for a Chelsea side who haven’t really strengthened since last season.
Mourinho has effectively created a media blackout, with nobody from the club willing to face the media after losing to West Ham and it appears that the Chelsea boss has little distance left to run.
