Luis Suarez is starting to earn headlines for the right reasons this season and Liverpool must be delighted that they kept faith with a striker who had a troubled first full campaign for the Reds last term.

While the Uruguayan is still accused of throwing himself down too easily, Suarez is scoring some excellent goals for Liverpool and his latest against Newcastle not only earned the Reds a point but also illustrated he is one of the Premier League’s top forwards.
In the end, it was only a point for the Merseyside team, with Suarez’s excellent solo effort cancelling out an impressive volley from Yohan Cabaye, while QPR and Reading also played out a 1-1 draw that did little to boost each team’s chance of survival.
On Saturday, Robin van Persie scored against his former club to help Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Arsenal and it was a good weekend for the Red Devils after Chelsea and Manchester City both dropped points. The former were held to a 1-1 draw at Swansea, while City played out a stalement at Upton Park.
There was also a surprise result at White Hart Lane where Wigan claimed a 1-0 win thanks to Shane Watson’s goal, with Aston Villa also upsetting the odds when Gabby Agbonlahor claimed the only goal of the game at Sunderland.
Stoke City dropped several places after a 1-0 defeat at Norwich, while Everton looked set to win at Fulham thanks to two Marouane Fellaini goals before Steven Sidwell nicked a point for the Cottagers.
