Wayne Rooney hoping for Manchester United title charge
Rooney wants Red Devils to continue winning run through Christmas

Manchester United have been written off several times for the Premier League title this term, although Louis van Gaal’s side are now a best price 12/1 to finish top of the pile.
United could be the third horse in a three-team race against Chelsea and Manchester City, with the Red Devils not having the distraction of European football this term which should stand them in good stead.
Wayne Rooney certainly feels that his team have the potential to go close this term, with a winning run continuing with a 3-0 victory against Liverpool on Sunday.
Of the club’s Premier League prospects, Rooney said: “We have to believe we can win the title. We are eight points behind and coming into a busy period. If we can win our games and the others have one bad result then there is nothing there [in margin]. We have been here before but we have a lot of new players and this is where the experience of myself, Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher can rub off on the other players.
“We have to keep winning our games and hopefully get back to the top and you never know. We have shown a great resilience. Some of the games haven’t gone the way we would like but we are winning them and that is a great quality to have. We won the league two years ago and we weren’t great in a lot of those games but we got the results.
“I have seen Chelsea a couple of times this season where they have not played great but have nicked it as well. We need to try and get the performances right and, if we do that, then we are confident we will win the games.”
