West Ham transfer roundup

It’s been an extremely busy transfer window for West Ham – with 15 players leaving and 11 players coming in. I think it is safe to say that we have got rid of a lot of deadwood and replaced them with better players. Below are my opinions on each of our new players:

Stephen Henderson

Henderson was highly rated by the Portsmouth fans. He is only 24 years old, which is still young for a keeper. I can see him becoming our main goalkeeper in the near future.

Jussi Jaaskelainen

The ex-Bolton keeper was brought to West Ham because of his vast amount of experience in the Premier League. He will have a good season in my opinion.

Raphael Spiegel

I honestly know nothing about Raphael, so I can’t say much about him.

James Collins

Ginge was solid the last time he was at West Ham, and he looks even better this season. He will play an instrumental role this season.

George McCartney

No disrespect to George McCartney, but I was really hoping that we would bring in a new left-back, as I personally believe that he is not Premier League standard. I hope he proves me wrong!

Alou Diarra

When you have got the likes of Diarra available for transfer, it would be criminal to not have a go at getting him. Diarra was the captain of the French international team and has 44 caps for his country. He will be a big player for us.

Matthew Jarvis

Jarvis broke our transfer record when joined us for £10.75 million, but I can see him being worth every penny. He put in 244 crosses last season, of which 27% of them were accurate. He will also get about 8 goals for us this season as well.

Mohamed Diame

Diame is a quality player. He likes to make powerful runs, and in most cases, they will be successful. He is also great at breaking down play, a proper box to box player.

Yossi Benayoun

I have been crying out for a player of Yossi’s quality for quite some time now. He may not have pace, but he has fantastic vision and will be pulling a lot of strings in our midfield this season. He will also score his fair share of goals as well.

Modibo Maiga

I personally don’t know much about Maiga, but so far he has looked good from what I have seen from him. He looks sharp, good in the air and possesses a lot of pace. I can see him being a big player for us but maybe not this season, as it will take him a little while to bed in.

Andy Carroll

What a signing Carroll was! He played part in all three of our goals against Fulham and will fit into Big Sam’s tactics perfectly. I can honestly see him becoming a huge fan favorite this season.
