Perhaps Harry Redknapp will remain at White Hart Lane at the end of the season, causing the FA to look elsewhere for a successor to Fabio Capello.

Redknapp certainly appears to be talking of a Tottenham future when mentioning Eden Hazard, a player that is likely to be playing for a Premier League club next season.

The Lille midfielder has been getting rave reviews across the Channel this season and looks certain to move on in the summer, although the Spurs manager concedes that there will be tough competition when it comes to landing his signature.

“Our owner is willing to pay for an exceptional talent, like Eden Hazard,” he is quoted by L’Equipe.

“I have seen him several times recently in Marseilles [in January] and then also against PSG in the final of the Coupe de France [last May].

“But I also know that Manchester United is looking at him and also Manchester City.

“It will be difficult to get him, but I like him a lot.”

Even if Tottenham secure Hazard’s signature, it remains to be seen whether Redknapp will be around to manage the player.
