England 2 Netherlands 3 – Rocking Robben scores double for Dutch
After an insipid first half of few chances, nobody could have predicted five second-half goals would be scored as the game came to life between England and the Netherlands on Wednesday night.

The Wembley encounter was the first and possibly the last match where Stuart Pearce will take charge of the Three Lions side and he will have been disappointed to have seen his young English side scramble back from 2-0 down only to lose 3-2.
Arjen Robben was effectively the difference between the two sides, with the Bayern Munich winger having scored a brilliant first goal before wrapping up victory after Gary Cahill and Ashley Young had brought the scoreline level.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was also on the scoresheet for the visitors, although the forward paid a price for getting on the end of a Dirk Kuyt cross immediately after Holland had opened the scoring. His clash of heads with Chris Smalling saw both players leave the pitch.
Pearce will consider himself satisfied with the ninety minutes despite the result as it was an opportunity to watch the likes of Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge ahead of the Euro 2012 finals.
Scott Parker captained the team for the first time in his career and will now be favourite for the skipper’s role during England’s Euro 2012 campaign against France.
