The striker has been at Stamford Bridge for several seasons, although it appears that his days at the club could be numbered, especially with Shanghai Shenhua interested in capturing the Ivory Coast captain.
Nicolas Anelka signed for the Chinese club in January and claims that he expects Drogba to make the same move, revealing that the pair speak on a regular basis.
“If I could choose any of my former team-mates to join me at Shenhua, it would be Didier,” he said.
“It’s difficult for me to say much at this time, but I speak with him on a regular basis and I expect him to come to Shanghai.
“When I left Chelsea, I told him we’d play together again soon.”
It also appears the owner is expecting Drogba to sign for Shenhua, with the club’s owner keeping the number 11 shirt warm for him.
He said: “During negotiations, Drogba said that he liked the number 11 – so, to show the club’s sincerity, we reserved it for him.”
