The Senegalese star has scored 16 Premier League goals and it’s getting towards the end of the campaign which naturally means the striker will be linked with the biggest clubs in the division, with Chelsea rumoured to be interested in Ba.

However, the player has denied that he wants to leave St James’ Park and insists he is enjoying life on Tyneside after completing his transfer from West Ham United in the summer.

Ba told Sky Sports when asked about a possible move to Chelsea: “It is rumours like you get in football.

“I am happy with Newcastle and I enjoy being here and playing for the Toon Army. I enjoy being in this team.

“We have a good team spirit and I love the North East, where I have my country-mate, Papiss Cisse.”

It appears that Chelsea could be looking for extra firepower considering that Didier Drogba is set to sign for Shanghai Shenhua in the summer and Fernando Torres’ future at Stamford Bridge is also unclear.
