Chelsea 3 Manchester United 3 – Red Devils come back from the dead
Chelsea v Manchester United matches are always packed with incident and Sunday’s six-goal thriller was no different, with the home side racing into a 3-0 lead only for the Red Devils to secure an unlikely point.

Two Wayne Rooney penalties pulled the scoreline back to 3-2 before the England forward’s shot was parried by Petr Cech, with Ryan Giggs able to cross the ball for Javier Hernandez to ensure that the champions took home a point.
It was a typically cagey opening between the two teams who were effectively cancelling each other out before Daniel Sturridge got to the by-line in the 36th minute and his cross was deflected into the net by Jonny Evans.
However, the game really sprang into life after half-time when Fernando Torres’ cross was volleyed home by Juan Mata and the Chelsea supporters were bouncing moments later when David Luiz headed past David De Gea with the help of a Rio Ferdinand deflection.
Chelsea looked to be in total control, although Daniel Sturridge conceded a penalty on the hour mark and Branislav Ivanovic did the same ten minutes later. Rooney despatched both spot kicks with aplomb and Hernandez should really have equalised when put through.
The Mexican would make amends with the equaliser which keeps United within touching distance of Manchester City despite a poor overall performance.
