Arsenal manager confirms no deal in place for Lukas Podolski
Lukas Podolski might be winging his way to the Emirates Stadium in the summer, although the German has not yet signed a deal with Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger suggesting there is still work to do on that front.

The Frenchman was speaking ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash against Newcastle, with Wenger simply stating that he rates the 26-year-old although he did hint that there is interest in the player.
“I have not a lot to say about that because if we sign a player we will inform you. At the moment we have not signed anybody. There is still no agreement.
“The distance to the agreement is not always linked with the signing. When you are very close you are quickly very far again, but Podolski is a good player, I wouldn’t deny that.”
Wenger also had little to say on Robin Van Persie’s future, despite Manchester City alluding to the fact that they would like to sign the striker in the summer.
“Robin is the leader of our club and I would just like to specify that he is not at the end of his contract.
“He is under contract until 2013. So you do your job, focus on your job which he does very well and enjoy your games.”
