But we have made an exception here.

Matches getting abandoned in parts of Europe, not least in Poland, are nothing new. There are some fierce rivalries in the Polish leagues and, on occasion, tempers boil over.

However, we never thought we’d see the day when an U8s match at a local sports hall would be abandoned due to crowd trouble.

Drunk fans of Polish first-division club Lech Poznan gatecrashed the under-8s match between Lecha (a supporters association linked to the same club) and Kornik 2012, and proceeded to treat the affair as a top of the table clash in the Ekstraklasa. The result was a pitch filled with toilet rolls and a pretty impressive flare show.
