Linesmen taking lessons from Ronaldo?
We’ve become accustomed to players feigning injury, exaggerating the slightest knock and generally being a bit soft, but linesman? It seems that they’re at it too…

We’ve never really thought of diving and playacting to be the preserve of the game’s esteemed officials, apart from Paul Alcock perhaps. We expect it from messurs Suarez, Ronaldo, Gerrard, Drogba and co, but not the men in black.
But it turns out that we were wrong, as one match between Lierse and Zulte Waregem in Belgium shows.
Concern was shown when the referee’s assistant staggered to the ground, clutching the back of his head. Naturally, initial thoughts suggested that a coin or other sharp object had been thrown from the stands.
Concern soon turned to ridicule however as one of the Lierse players went over to collect the offending item – a cardboard drinks carrier.
