Tottenham keen to sign Leandro Damiao and release Jermain Defoe
There’s just over a week before the transfer window closes and plenty more business to be conducted, with Emmanuel Adebayor arriving at White Hart Lane from Manchester City on Tuesday.

Whether Leandro Damiao is also acquired by Tottenham remains to be seen, with the north London club apparently keen to sign the Brazilian which could see Jermain Defoe leave for Queens Park Rangers.
However, it might require a rather hefty bid to sign the Brazilian striker who was so impressive during the Olympics where he ended up winning the Golden Boot.
The player’s current club is Internacional and president Giovanni Luigi has claimed that no talks with Tottenham have taken place and no talks are scheduled.
“There isn’t any Tottenham representative here, and nothing is scheduled,” he told Globo Esporte.
“The ones that have been coming here are agents. Leandro Damiao was top scorer in the Olympics. I have nothing scheduled with Tottenham.
“Internacional want to keep Leandro Damiao. He’ll leave only if there is an extraordinary offer.”
Andre Villas-Boas claimed earlier this week that Jermain Defoe was part of the Tottenham furniture although the England striker might be worried about his lack of first-team action now that Adebayor has signed.
