Thierry Henry set to sign for Arsenal FC
Thierry Henry is already an Arsenal legend, something which was recently in evidence when a statue of the Frenchman was unveiled at the Emirates Stadium.

However, it doesn’t appear as though the forward has played his last game for the Gunners, with the New York Red Bulls player having trained with the Arsenal squad since the Major League season finished in the US.
It appears as though Arsene Wenger is ready to give his team a boost by offering Henry a short-term contract, with Per Mertesacker revealing that the forward is still blessed with the quality to make an impact in the Premier League.
“I am very happy to play against him in training and it is a great experience,” Mertesacker said. “He is playing very, very good. He is a great opportunity for us but I’m not the manager. I couldn’t make a decision on what is possible for him or for us. In training, he shows his class and to have him with us is great because he shows his attitude, his experience. He still has the same attitude he showed in a lot of games at Arsenal.”
In addition, it appears that Wenger could be interested in Lukas Podolski and Mertesacker is also keen on his compatriot arriving at the Emirates.
“He is a great player, especially for the national team,” Mertesacker said. “He scores a lot of goals, and he has a very good finish with his left foot. His left foot is unbelievable and I’m a fan of him. This year, he has scored a lot of goals. He is powerful as well.”
