It can’t be easy being Yossi Benayoun. You are, by all accounts, a pretty handy football player but you’re currently on the pay-roll at a football club with lots of even more handy football players.

When you are a pretty handy football player on the pay-roll at a football club with lots of even more handy football players, your chances to succeed are pretty limited. Instead, you must spend your time sat on the substitute’s bench, wondering what sports car to buy with this week’s pay cheque.

But when your chance to shine does come, you’ve got to grasp it with both hands. You’ve got to prove that you’re not just as handy a football player as those other handy football players, you’ve got to prove that you’re even more handy a football player as those other handy football players.

And it looked like good old Yossi was doing just that, especially when he came up with this beauty in a pre-season kick-about against Wycombe Wanderers

Unfortunately for Yossi, the he couldn’t keep riding the crest of that particular wave for long. Over at the highly prestigious and ever-so-important Premier League Asia Trophy, Mr Benayoun ensured that he would be making another appearance in Youtube’s ‘featured video’ list with this fantastic overhead kick fail against Kitchee.

So here’s to you Mr Benayoun! Keep up the good work!
