Roberto Martinez urged to make a decision on Liverpool FC
The odds on Roberto Martinez becoming the next manager of Liverpool FC have drifted in the past 24 hours, with many people expecting the Spaniard to stay put at Wigan Athletic despite clear interest from the Merseyside club.

A Tuesday press conference will illustrate exactly what the situation is with regard to Martinez becoming Kenny Dalglish’s replacement and it’s a subject that Latics owner Dave Whelan has refused to stay silent on.
Whelan is clearly hoping that his manager remains at the DW Stadium, although it appears that a Thursday deadline has been set for Martinez to make a decision on whether to take charge at a club that badly underperformed in the Premier League last term.
“Roberto has told me he is speaking with Liverpool again on Tuesday,” Whelan told ESPN.
“I have now made it clear that I want this sorted out by Thursday at the latest as we have to get on preparing for next season.”
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers is another target for Liverpool although Swansea have dismissed any speculation there has been contact.
“We would like to clarify the speculation in the press surrounding our manager Brendan Rodgers,” a statement said.
“We would like to confirm that there has been no contact from Liverpool and nothing has changed since our previous statement on the issue.”
