Kenny Dalglish sacked by Liverpool FC
Kenny Dalglish’s second coming has not lasted long, with Liverpool Football Club terminating the Scot’s contract on Wednesday just hours after the England squad for Euro 2012 had been announced.

It comes shortly after a disappointing season for the Reds which saw the Merseyside club finish nearly 40 points behind Manchester United and Manchester City in the Premier League, with the Fenway Sports Group now looking for a new manager to take the club forward.
Liverpool did win the Carling Cup last season and also reached the FA Cup Final, although they were nowhere near the Champions League places and only qualify for the Europa League by virtue of beating Cardiff on penalties at Wembley.
There are naturally lots of potential names on the managerial shortlist, with Rafael Benitez being linked with a return to Anfield, while Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola might be wishful thinking on the part of Liverpool fans.
A more interesting candidate could be Roberto Martinez who is generally regarded to be doing a fine job with Wigan Athletic and the Spaniard could be interested in applying for such a big role.
