Daniel Agger claims he wants to stay at Liverpool FC
Manchester City are clearly looking to sign a new central defender, with Roberto Mancini looking for extra cover at the back for Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott.

Neither Kolo Toure or Stefan Savic meet the required standard and Daniel Agger is high on the City shortlist, although it doesn’t appear as though the Liverpool defender is particularly keen on leaving the Merseyside club.
Two bids for the Dane have already been rejected although it appears that it’s Brendan Rodgers looking to cash in on Agger rather than the player wanting to move on.
“No, I haven’t heard anything, Agger told Ekstra Bladet when asked about his future.
“That is how the club wants to do it. I would prefer to stay.
“I can’t imagine playing for other clubs in England. But, you never know if the club prefers to sell me.”
Agger has always been outspoken about his situation at Liverpool, especially when not getting regular first-team football although his departure might leave the Reds short of numbers, with Jamie Carragher coming towards the end of his career.
The Dane recently had “YNWA” tattooed on his knuckles, claiming “It is a gesture towards the Kop, towards Liverpool and towards the people around the club.”
