Arsenal fans upset as former player points out the obvious on Twitter
Footballers and Twitter is rarely a mixture that ends well. That combination is now set to get even worse now that Ashley Cole has signed up to the micro blogging service.

You don’t have to go too far to find examples of footballer faux-pas on social media. You have Ashley’s namesake, Carlton Cole, making a racist “gag” ahead of an England match against Ghana, Ryan Babel messing about on Photoshop and Joey Barton being, well, Joey Barton.
It didn’t take long for word of @TheRealAC3’s arrival on Twitter to spread, particularly amongst Arsenal supporting circles.
Now, if you cast your mind back to 2006, you might remember that Ashley’s transfer from Arsenal to Chelsea didn’t go down particularly well – partly due to his claim that he was left “trembling with anger” when he was offered just £55,000 a week by Arsenal.
Of course, Mr Cole came in for a bit of abuse on his first day on Twitter (with a certain Piers Morgan leading the charge) but the left-back took it all in good humour, taking time to point out the vast open spaces that are currently in the Emirates trophy cabinet.
“I am what I am. Winnerr!!! 11 to me 0 for you!!!”, said Mr Cole, attaching a picture of himself holding aloft the Champions League trophy in a questionably tight looking pair of shorts.
He also went on to retweet an image detailing just how successful his time at Chelsea has been since leaving Arsenal.
