Andre Villas-Boas favourite to be next Liverpool FC manager
A year ago, Andre Villas-Boas was just about to replace Carlo Ancelotti as manager of Chelsea FC although the Portuguese lasted just a few months at Stamford Bridge and had to watch his former team win the Champions League final on Saturday.

Such a victory almost certainly wouldn’t have been achieved with AVB at the helm, although it hasn’t stopped the bookmakers from installing the 34-year-old as favourite to replace Kenny Dalglish at Anfield, with Roberto Martinez also available at short odds right now.
Villas-Boas is currently deciding his next managerial move after previously impressing when winning the league and Europa League with Porto, something which attracted Chelsea to the young manager in the first place.
Villas-Boas was quoted by The Independent as saying: “I’m still choosing the right project and that decision will take the necessary time.”
One man who doesn’t seem too interested in the position is Frank de Boer, who claims that he is focused on his Ajax manager’s job.
The 42-year-old intends to remain loyal to the Amsterdam team in the coming years and didn’t need much time to consider whether the Liverpool job interested him.
“I am honoured by the request, but I am only just getting started with Ajax,” De Boer told De Telegraaf.
“In Amsterdam we are on a new path and, along with the club and Wim Jonk and Dennis Bergkamp, my colleagues in the technical heart, I want to bring good things. That’s why I will stay loyal to Ajax in the coming years.”
