Beckham has made one start for Paris and an additional four substitute appearances since arriving at the French capital, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absence against Barca potentially opening the way for the former England captain to play a major part in proceedings.
PSG are certainly happy with their new signing and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is hoping to keep Beckham at the club beyond this summer, having been impressed by Beckham’s application and work rate.
Al-Khelaifi said in an interview with L’Equipe: “Recruiting David was one of my best decisions.
“As a man, player, ambassador, he is exceptional. It creates something in this group. Everyone loves it.
“We will talk with him. Whatever his decision, we support David.
“He is very happy in Paris. Frankly, we want to keep him with us next season.”
Beckham has confirmed he would like to remain in Paris but remains open to other offers come the end of the season.
He told Le Parisien: “We’ll see. Who wouldn’t want to stay at a place like this?
“It’s very special but I’m not getting any younger so we’ll see how I feel at the end of the season. It’s always nice to be wanted.”
