Nigel Pearson set to return to Leicester City this week
Pearson the bookmaker favourite to replace Claudio Ranieri and take charge of Leicester for a second time

Many people think that Nigel Pearson deserves some credit for laying the foundations for Leicester City’s title procession last season, with Claudio Ranieri’s predecessor laying the foundations during the 2014/15 season by keeping the Foxes in the league and finishing the campaign with a flourish.
It appears as though Pearson might get a chance to complete some unfinished business at the King Power, with news emerging that the former City boss is now the 2/5 favourite to replace Ranieri and it’s clear that he’s in the running to return to the Midlands club.
Pearson has had a brief spell with Derby County since leaving Leicester, with the 53-year-old having left Pride Park after just a few games in charge after clashing with owner Mel Morris.
However, it has been reported that Pearson is wanted back at the club by a large group of the Leicester players and the owners might be considering a U-turn which reinstates the former Sheffield Wednesday defender at this stage of the season.
The Foxes certainly need a steady hand at the helm considering they are wobbling badly in the Premier League this season, with Liverpool visiting the King Power on Monday night hoping to pour more salt into the wounds.
