Neymar on verge of £450 million switch from Barcelona to PSG
The world transfer record about to be smashed, with Neymar in Porto for medical after PSG agree to pay £198m release clause

Neymar has said his goodbyes at Barcelona and is now in the process of joining Paris Saint-Germain, with the French club having agreed to pay the Catalan outfit nearly £200 million to release the player from his contract.
PSG are thoroughly determined to smash the world transfer record and bring the Brazilian to the Parc des Princes, with the deal thought to be worth in the region of £450m when you include release clause, transfer fee and wages.
Neymar made his way to Porto on Wednesday to complete a medical for Paris Saint-Germain, with the forward expected to be unveiled in France this week and he’s sure to add a cutting edge to a club who are desperate to succeed in the Champions League.
This move triggers the possibility that Philippe Coutinho might be keen to leave Liverpool and take Neymar’s place at the Nou Camp, although Jurgen Klopp was having none of it when the subject was raised.
“It’s nice that Coutinho is so highly rated but they can save their energy,” the manager said. “I cannot talk about this just because a Barcelona guy starts talking. Did he say they come to Liverpool and do business, something like this? They want to come over? They are funny. I don’t want things like this.”
He said: “There are clubs that can pay fees like that – Manchester City and PSG. Everybody knows that. I thought financial fair play was introduced so situations like this could not happen but it seems to be more of a suggestion than a real rule. I don’t understand how it happens but I hope this is not the next step. I hope it will stay the exception but you never know.”
