Mourinho returns to Chelsea
How do you get 250 media types into a room all at the same time on a Monday afternoon? The answer is, when The Special One, Jose Mourinho is giving a press conference on his return to Chelsea.
June 10th, 2013
The 50-year old this afternoon once more became the leader of the Blues after a 6-year hiatus. As ever the Portuguese powerhouse was his usual slightly short, but ever so charismatic self as he described his move from Real Madrid back to Stamford Bridge, stating that he is now the “Happy One”.
He expressed his joy by informing the sea of reporters that:
‘A lot of things happened in my professional life in the last nine years (since I first arrived at the club), but I have the same nature, I am the same person, I have the same heart, I have the same kind of emotions related to my passion for football and my job, but I am a different person in this moment.’
It was clear he was trying to deflect from the talk that he ruined Spanish football during his 3 year reign at Real, which surely brings to the forefront the rumoured fall-out with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich and his subsequent move from Chelsea into mainland Europe.
He was determined to make his point that Chelsea was where he wanted to b3, stressing that he wasn’t concerned that neither Manchester United nor Manchester City had made a play for him, saying
“I am where I want to be – I wouldn’t change it for anything.”
He ended the conference insisting that he will stay for the full 4-year term he has been offered by the board at the London club. Only time will tell what impact his return will have on the Europa League-winning side.
