Manchester United fans set to send “Moyes Out” plane banner on Saturday
Supporters planning fly-past calling for David Moyes to be sacked after an abysmal first season in charge of the Red Devils

There were murmurings of discontent following the 3-0 defeat by Liverpool and then verbal abuse directed towards David Moyes and Sir Alex Ferguson after Manchester City ran riot at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Now it appears that a certain section of supporters are organising a fly-past for Saturday’s match between Manchester United and Aston Villa, which will see a plane go over Old Trafford bearing a ‘Wrong One – Moyes Out’ message.
This is a tongue-in-cheek reference to ‘The Chosen One’ banner featuring an image of Moyes which currently features at the United ground, with several supporters now of the opinion that the Scot is not the man to take the club forward.
Tuesday’s performance was particularly insipid and United never recovered from going an early goal down against a team who controlled the game, with Moyes admitting after the match that United had to look and achieve the same level as City.
If the stunt manages to go ahead, The Guardian reports it will be the first concerted effort by fans to remove the manager from his post since the campaign began. United now sit seventh in the Premier League table and a full eighteen points off the summit.
One fan had to be ushered away from the dugout area by a steward during the derby, while Sir Alex Ferguson was verbally abused in the stands, with the knight being criticised for the way in which he autonomously selected Moyes as his replacement.
The United supporters have raised almost £1,000 between themselves through the Red Issue website to organise the flyover, with the Manchester Evening News having recently started to oppose Moyes.
