Luis Suarez happy to “get revenge” on English press
Liverpool striker now looking to fire Uruguay past Italy tonight

Luis Suarez wasn’t just carrying the weight of a nation on his shoulders when Uruguay faced England. It now appears that the striker had an enormous chip on his shoulder, with the player still feeling aggrieved at his treatment at the hands of the English press.
The fourth estate are widely regarded as part of the problem when it comes to the English national team and it also appears that their coverage of Suarez in the wake of racist and biting incidents spurred on the forward to perform against the Three Lions.
Suarez hopes to be ready to face Italy this evening and said: “What happened before the match‚ I did not want to attack anybody, only some of the media started making fun of me and you are in the media. You should know what happened and why they did that to me.”
“You should know what happened and I think it was nothing more than the papers,” Suárez said. “Because everybody knows that I was elected the best player of the year. Even the people in the Premier League voted for me.”
Suarez’s barbed comments are slightly puzzling given that the Liverpool man has earned rave reviews in a Liverpool shirt since returning from his ten-month ban, although it appears as though the Uruguayan could have played his final game for the Reds.
The bookies now go odds-on that Suarez leaves Anfield this summer, with reports in Spain linking the player with a move to Barcelona which could cause outrage in the red half of Merseyside.
