Sadio Mané has lit up the Premier League for Southampton over the past couple of seasons and that generally results in a transfer to Liverpool for anyone impressing at St Mary’s.
Mané has now completed a £30 million move to Anfield, with the player signing a five-year contract where he will join ex-Saints such as Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne.
The 24-year-old has plenty of potential to become even better under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, with Mané excited about the prospect of turning out for the Merseyside club.
“Today is a big day and I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in Europe,” Mané told the Liverpool website.
“It’s a club that has won a lot of trophies and has a big history. Now I am looking forward to meeting all the staff and my team-mates and starting the season.”
Klopp is likely to continue shaping his squad as the season approaches, although this signing indicates that Liverpool mean business ahead of the new season.
