Liverpool FC favourites to sign Danny Ings from Burnley
Ings is 6/4 to sign for Liverpool FC before January transfer window closes
January 30th, 2015
Liverpool FC have been desperately short of a striker this season, with Daniel Sturridge spending most of the campaign on the sidelines and Luis Suarez having departed for Barcelona.
Mario Balotelli hasn’t been the answer, with Brendan Rodgers not having faith in Fabio Borini nor Rickie Lambert, although it appears that the Liverpool boss is keen to snap up Danny Ings.
The Burnley forward has been in great form for the Clarets this season and his goals have given the Lancashire club a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League this season.
Sky Bet make Liverpool the 6/4 favourites to claim Ings’ signature before the transfer window closes, with Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle also rumoured to be interested in the forward.
It appears that a deal could be struck with Liverpool which allows the player to remain at Turf Moor until the end of the season and Burnley seem to have assurances that Ings will be wearing a Clarets shirt until May.
“There’s just been contact, constant contact, but we all know where we stand,” said Burnley manager Sean Dyche on Thursday.
“I think contractual situations are private to players. Danny’s made it clear he’s going to be here until the end of the season, we’ve made it clear he’s going to be here until the end of the season. After that, who knows – watch this space. He wants to be here. He’s made that clear, and said that numerous times, so I’m happy to go along with his words.”
