Huddersfield Town reach the Championship after play-off final win
Lee Clark twice failed to take Huddersfield from League One through the play-offs, although Simon Grayson has managed to elevate the Terriers to the Championship at the first time of asking.

After 120 minutes of football against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon, the Wembley final went down to penalties with Town winning 8-7 on spot kicks to book their place in the English second flight next term.
It means that the chances of retaining the services of Jordan Rhodes are a lot stronger, while supporters will also look forward to league matches against Leeds United next term.
Manager Grayson admitted he had not been able to watch the penalty kicks, with 22 being taken and it was Sheffield United goalie Steve Simonsen who blazed over to ensure the Terriers triumphed.
“When we put together the first five penalty takers we didn’t expect it to go down to the goalkeepers to take them,” said Grayson.
“I expected them to save a couple but not to take the decisive ones.
“We missed the first three, so how we recovered from that I’ll never know.
“I couldn’t affect anything so I just sat down on the bench next to my chairman, I didn’t watch any of them.
“I could tell by the crowd what was happening, basically we just had a laugh and a joke about what was going to happen. It’s down to the players.
“Sometimes it’s written in the stars, you get your bit of luck and we managed to do that.”
