Mourinho to be given an Old Trafford war chest and he’s targeting John Stones

It’s now clear that Jose Mourinho will become the next manager of Manchester United, with the Portuguese expected to be appointed over the coming days after news leaked immediately after the FA Cup final.
It is clear that Mourinho will be given the funds to rebuild this Red Devils squad and a list of names have emerged as to who the former Chelsea boss wants to sign at Old Trafford.
This includes John Stones, a primary target for Chelsea twelve months ago and now on the United hit list as Mourinho looks to make him the mainstay of a United defence who are already among the stingiest in the division.
In addition to Stones, The Guardian are reporting that André Gomes, João Mário, Álvaro Morata, Mauro Icardi and Ezequiel Garay are also being targeted, with Mourinho looking to push United into a title race for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge.
News emerged on Monday that Louis van Gaal was going to be sacked at Old Trafford, despite the Dutchman under the impression that he would serve the final year of his contract at the club.
