Joe Hart defends his Manchester City performances this season
The position of goalkeeper is a vulnerable one. Any major mistake is likely to lead to an opposition goal and some of Joe Hart’s performances for Manchester City have come under the microscope as the English champions struggle to stay with United at the top of the Premier League.

City certainly don’t seem as watertight as last season where they won the title on goal difference, although Hart is unfazed by criticism and accepts that is simply part of his job due to the fact that he is the City and England number one.
Hart said: “If you weren’t doing well, and winning things, then people wouldn’t be interested in what you’re doing.
“People are paid to make comments and do punditry but you’ve got to be strong and confident that you can turn up week in, week out and give the best you’ve got.”
Asked whether he felt happy with his form, he replied: “Of course. I work hard, but sometimes I don’t save it, it’s as simple as that, it’s not through lack of effort or concentration.
“You’d like to be perfect and make every save but, as much as we try to be, it’s not going to happen.”
