Harry Kane not bothered about August scoring drought
Tottenham striker confident goals will flow as per the previous three seasons
August 23rd, 2017
Harry Kane has been the most prolific striker in England over the past two years and the Tottenham forward is unconcerned by a supposed “August curse” after failing to find the net against Newcastle and Chelsea.
Kane has come close to scoring in both matches although, as per last season, the forward has failed to score in the month of August, with Burnley the visitors to Wembley on Sunday.
He and many FPL managers will hope that goals come against the Clarets, with Kane confident that he can finish top Premier League scorer again this term.
He said: “It is something that is spoken about a lot, but I am not too bothered by it. I try to play well for the team and play well every game.
“Sometimes the ball does not go in, as it didn’t against Chelsea with one off the post and the few chances I had. It is part of the game, I just need to keep working hard, keep my head down and I am sure the goals will come.”
Mauricio Pochettino retains full faith in a striker who managed 29 Premier League goals last season, improving on the previous season’s tally by four goals.
