Gary Neville appointed head coach of Valencia
Neville takes charge of Valencia until the end of the season
December 2nd, 2015
Gary Neville has been touted as the next manager of England, although the former Manchester United player has decided to dip his toe into club management after it was announced he was becoming the next Head Coach of Valencia.
This unexpected move means that Neville is likely to relinquish his role as an expert on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, with Phil Neville having previously joined the coaching team at Valencia although he will now be reporting to his older brother.
It’s undoubtedly a shock move, with Neville currently part of the England coaching set-up, although it appears that he will remain in Roy Hodgson’s team as the Three Lions prepare for Euro 2016.
Neville has demonstrated as a pundit to be an extremely knowledgeable person when it comes to football tactics, although going to a foreign country for his first ever stab at club management is still something of a risk.
It follows in the footsteps of David Moyes heading to Real Sociedad, a stint that recently ended after the Scot had previously been in charge of Manchester United.
