Most Everton supporters won’t have heard the name Gerard Deulofeu although he could become a Goodison Park favourite this season after completing a loan move from Barcelona.

The 19-year-old is regarded to be a potential superstar and Roberto Martinez has persuaded Deulofeu to spend a season in the Premier League and pick up valuable experience for the Toffees, with the new Everton manager having been busy in the transfer market this week.
Arouna Kone arrived from Wigan earlier in the week, with Joel Robles and Antolín Alcaraz also making the switch to the Merseyside club, although it could be the capture of Deulofeu which proves to be the real master stroke.
Martínez’ said: “Gerard is a real diamond of Spanish football and a boy with incredible footballing talent and I am delighted that he has chosen to take the next step of his career with Everton.”
The player has represented Spain at under-21 level, with Barcelona happy to allow the player a season-long loan after recently completing the signing of Neymar, while Lionel Messi’s place in the Barca team is also guaranteed.
