Ronald Koeman top of Everton’s wanted list although the Southampton manager under contract at St Mary’s

Everton predictably severed ties with Roberto Martinez this week, with the Merseyside club now searching for a successor that can lead the Toffees into battle next season.
Frank de Boer was installed as immediate favourite following the Dutchman’s decision to recently leave Ajax, although it appears that his compatriot Ronald Koeman could be the number one choice instead.
Koeman has done an excellent job with Southampton since replacing Mauricio Pochettino at St Mary’s, with the former PSV coach having to contend with player departure.
The bookies offer 11/4 that Koeman becomes the next boss of Everton, with Frank de Boer a 6/5 chance although it appears that the former is a safer bet considering he already knows the ins and outs of the Premier League.
Mark Hughes and Manuel Pellegrini are other managers linked with the vacant post although it looks likely that Everton will pursue at least one Dutchman and hope to get their first choice.
