A quick look at their Europa league opponents:

Anzhi Makhachkala – Anzhi have suffered a horrendous summer where they have had to shift most of their club’s star players due to a cut in their playing budget. This has seen talent such as Samuel Eto’o, Willian, Yuri Zhirkov and Christoph Samba leave the club.

Sheriff – The small Moldovan club should provide no real threat to Spurs in the 2 times they will face each other. FC Sheriff Tiraspol reached the group stages by knocking out FK Vojvodina Novi Sad over 2 legs.

Tromso – The Norwegian clubs ground holds under 7,000 fans so Spurs fans travelling to the game will most likely have to scrap for the tickets! Like Sheriff, they should offer no real threat to Tottenham.

All in all AVB will be secretly fairly happy with the teams his club has been drawn against. But they will have to do it without star man Gareth Bale. Will they do it?
