Arsene Wenger delighted by Arsenal performance against Milan
It was an amazing game of football at the Emirates on Tuesday night where Arsenal came within a whisker of beating Milan 4-0 and taking their Champions League into an improbable period of extra time.

Laurent Koscielny got the ball rolling by heading home a corner in the 7th minute and the aggregate deficit was reduced to two goals when Tomas Rosicky found the net in 26th minute.
The comeback appeared to be well and truly on just before half-time when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was felled in the penalty area and Robin Van Persie slotted home to make it 3-0 on the night.
However, the Dutchman was to miss an easy chance for 4-0 in the second half as Arsenal couldn’t find that final goal and Milan also missed some good chances to put the tie out of reach.
Arsene Wenger was left to reflect on what might have been, although the Frenchman was delighted with his team’s display.
“They can only be proud of their performance,” Wenger told Sky Sports 2.
“The team has fantastic spirit and showed some fight after the first tie, but unfortunately we go out. We had the chances for a goal, but we keep our winning run going which is important.
“We have paid the price for a bad first game.
“But we have given everything. That is all you can do at the top level: give everything and then you can accept the result.”
