England aren’t underdogs against Italy claims Roy Hodgson
Not long now until England take to the pitch for their Euro 2012 quarter final match against Italy and the bookmakers have Italy as marginal favourite for the contest in Kiev.

Nevertheless, Roy Hodgson is confident that his team can set up a semi-final against Germany and dismisses any notion that the Three Lions are the underdogs after finishing top of Group D ahead of France.
“We’re not underdogs in any way,” he said.
“We have good-quality players who are recognised worldwide and, certainly, would get into a lot of the top European teams.
“Spain have had a few scares along the way and Italy have been stable in their performances without actually tearing the tournament up.
“It’s been a fairly smooth process for us.
“Things were up in the air because our preparation time was so short and we lost four senior players to injury in the build-up.
“But we’ve managed to put that to one side and now it’s more a positive feeling.”
Indeed, it’s easy to forget that Gary Cahill, Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard incurred injuries that saw them out of the 23-man England squad, although the Three Lions head to Kiev on Saturday brimming with confidence.
