Chelsea 2 Manchester City 1 – Fernando Torres pinches the points
Chelsea are the new Premier League title favourites after beating Manchester City 2-1 on Sunday afternoon, with Fernando Torres scoring a late winner after a defensive mix-up at the back.

There looked to be little danger when a ball over the top saw Matija Nastasic beating Torres to the ball, although the defender headed the ball over Joe Hart to allow the Spaniard to slot home and seal three points for Chelsea.
It could turn out to be a decisive goal, with Andre Schurrle opening the scoring towards the end of the first half when Torres laid the ball on a plate for the German, with the striker having previously missed a sitter after beating the offside trap.
However, Manchester City created plenty of chances throughout the contest and Sergio Aguero needs just a sniff of a chance to score goals at the moment, with the Argentine firing home an excellent equaliser.
City were missing Vincent Kompany in the heart of defence and it turned out to be their downfall, although questions will be asked of Hart’s blunder, with the England keeper having called for the ball before Nastasic nodded over his team-mate.
However, Manuel Pellegrini refused to criticise his goalkeeper and admitted the late goal was the worst way to lose.
“I don’t know if it’s the worst, but one of the worst, because I thought we played well,” he told Sky Sports.
“Especially in the second half we had control of the game. We made an important mistake.
“I don’t think it is the moment to say who should take the ball.
“They scored a goal and we will analyse it.”
