Serie A legends to Vicarage Road?
Gianfranco Zola is the new man in charge at Watford and according to reports, he’s going to be adding a very ‘Italian’ flavour at Vicarage Road by bringing in Serie A legends Filippo Inzaghi and Alessandro Del Piero.

Zola has, according to the Mirror, targeted the Italian veterans as part of his plans to turn the Hornets from mid-table averageness into play-off contenders. Inzaghi, 38 and Del Piero, 37, are both free agents after leaving AC Milan and Juventus respectively in the summer.
Inzaghi, a two-time Champions League winner who is second only to Raul in the all-time Champions League goal scoring charts, was not offered a contract by Milan at the end of this campaign and is seeking a contract elsewhere, rather than putting his feet up. Reports have also linked him with Reading, but he could yet reverse the move made by Luther Blissett (although we’ll assume that Watford know who they are signing here, if you believe the urban legend).
Del Piero ended his two-decade tenure at Juventus in style, lifting his sixth Scudetto as a Juventus player. The Italian midfielder had made no secret of the fact that he would not want to play for another Serie A side, which many expected to mean his retirement from the game. Instead, a challenge abroad could be on the cards (and we’re sure that there’s a big contract waiting in for him in Asia somewhere).
So, Milan and Turin to Hertfordshire? Could happen.
