Suarez is “chomping at the bit” to face United
Brendan Rodgers will be glad to regain the services of troubled striker Luis Suarez as his Liverpool side prepares to face Manchester United on Wednesday – but in displaying his enthusiasm he could’ve chosen his words more carefully!

At a press conference earlier today, and genuinely without a hint of irony in his voice, the Northern Irishman told reporters that the 26-year old Uruguayan was “chomping at the bit” to be selected in the side for the Capital One Cup game at Old Trafford, having just completed a lengthy ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanović during their 2-2 draw in April.
“It has been a really difficult time for him not playing games…How he has prepared himself over the last number of weeks has been fantastic. Everyone knows the depth of his quality and his attitude.”
The depth of his quality certainly showed today while training with the team when, according to photographs currently doing the rounds on Twitter, Suarez found himself tangled inside the depths of the practice nets.
After losing their unbeaten record at the weekend with defeat to Southampton, the Reds will hope to pick themselves up and show an equally good if not better display against a Manchester United side humbled by their blue neighbours on Sunday. Although at this early stage of the season we can’t expect a full-blown spectacle on the pitch, given as it is for a League Cup game, it will be interesting to see who can recover from their slump in form first.
