Cardiff City 3 Man City 2 – Campbell at the double for the Welsh newcomers
There were amazing scenes at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with Manchester City losing 3-2 in South Wales against a spirited and organised Cardiff team who came from behind to claim victory.

Malky Mackay’s team were full of endeavour during the opening exchanges and limited their opponents to just one shot on target during the first half, with the home side shading the encounter before the break although Cardiff were stunned shortly after half-time.
Edin Dzeko let fly from outside the area to put the visitors in front and it appears that the 2012 champions would go on to claim three points, although the home side had other ideas.
Aron Gunnarsson was quick to respond to Joe Hart parrying Fraizer Campbell’s shot and Cardiff were level with half an hour to play, with both teams looking to find a winning goal and three more were scored before the final whistle.
Peter Whittingham sent over a corner and Campbell was able to evade Pablo Zabaleta to nod home from close-range, while the same player scored a carbon copy to double his team’s advantage with time running out.
Alvaro Negredo had previously replaced Dzeko and scored his first goal in English football by nodding home a David Silva cross, while the Spaniard had a late chance to claim a last-gasp equaliser although Cardiff were able to hold on for three valuable points.
