Chelsea show no signs of stumbling in the Premier League title race, with a superb performance ensuring the Blues claimed a 2-0 win on Boxing Day against an in-form West Ham side.
Goals from John Terry and Diego Costa ensure that the gap remains at three points, with Manchester City landing a 3-1 win at The Hawthorns as the champions continued their strong winning run.
Fernando, David Silva and Yaya Toure ensured that City stay right on the tails of Chelsea, with Manchester United also recording a 3-1 win after Wayne Rooney bagged a first-half brace for the Red Devils.
Arsenal had Olivier Giroud sent off and had Alexis Sanchez miss an early penalty against QPR although they still managed a 2-1 win against a QPR side who are yet to land a point away this term.
Southampton look to be back in form following a 3-1 triumph at Selhurst Park which puts Crystal Palace in the bottom three, with Steve Bruce returning to the Stadium of Light and engineering a 3-1 win for his team Hull City.
Leicester City stay rock bottom after a 2-1 reverse against Tottenham, with Burnley also in the mire after Raheem Sterling’s second-half strike ensured that Liverpool banked a much-needed three points.
Everton were beaten at home to Stoke City, with Swansea also triumphing by a single goal against Aston Villa.
