Wenger likely to continue as Arsenal FC manager for the 2017/18 season despite the Gunners likely to miss out on top four spot

Arsenal fans remain in two camps regarding the future of Arsene Wenger. There are those who believe that the Frenchman should be in charge for the foreseeable future and continues to do a good job at the Emirates Stadium.

However, there are a growing number of fans who would like to see the back of someone who appears past his sell-by date when it comes to Premier League football.

Wenger is keeping his cards close to his chest, with some newspapers now reporting that he’s going to agree a new deal with the London club that extends his tenure for a further two years.

It has been reported in some quarters that Thomas Tuchel has been offered the Arsenal manager’s job although the plain truth is that the Arsenal board will allow Wenger to make his own decision regarding the future before deciding potential options.

Wenger reckons his future doesn’t depend on landing a top-four spot with Arsenal.

“It will not necessarily be linked with that because I’ve done the top four 20 times,” he said.

“It’s more … it’s not that. I take a bigger perspective. It’s not the last result that will decide what I will do.”
