Arsenal manager criticises players after FA Cup defeat at Nottingham Forest
Arsene Wenger admits that Forest’s players looked sharper after 4-2 reverse

Nottingham Forest were a 5/1 chance to beat Arsenal on Sunday, although a youthful Tricky Trees team managed to score four times and win the FA Cup tie by a 4-2 scoreline.
Arsene Wenger watched at the City Ground from the stands thanks to a touchline ban, with the Frenchman unhappy with the performance level from a changed team which included Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck.
“I have said what I had to say many times and will not talk about the referees,” Wenger said. “I’ve talked about that and I have nothing to add. I just think we were not good enough anywhere – not up front, in the middle or at the back – and we paid for it. We repeated the same mistakes – once, twice, three times.
“They [Forest] looked sharper. They had more chances and an outstanding performance. They were sharp, winning decisive challenges, and dangerous going forward, and overall they deserved to win, as simple as that. Overall I would like to congratulate Nottingham Forest.”
It was unusually gracious from Wenger who will now hope that the Arsenal first team can acquit themselves well over two games against Chelsea in the EFL Cup, with the first leg taking place on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge.
