Arsenal draw Bayern Munich in the Champions League again
Arsenal face Bayern at the last sixteen stage, while Manchester City and Leicester City receive tougher draws
December 12th, 2016
For the third time in five seasons, Arsenal have drawn Bayern Munich in the Champions League, with the Gunners going up against the Bavarian side for a place in the last eight of the competition.
Arsene Wenger’s team managed to win their Champions League group, although Bayern finished second behind Atletico Madrid meaning that the pair could meet each other and so it proved to be the case.
Manchester City managed to get a decent draw considering they finished runner-up in their group, with Pep Guardiola’s team up against a Monaco side who will secretly fancy their chances of getting the better of English opposition with a leaky defence.
Meanwhile, Leicester City’s reward for going through is a pairing against Sevilla, with the latter likely to be warm favourites to go through against the Foxes.
The Spanish side have won the Europa League for the past two seasons and will be delighted to face a team who have been fairly ordinary this term following last season’s amazing title success.
