Arsenal 1 Bayern Munich 3 – Gunners outclassed by brilliant Bayern
Arsenal are effectively out of the 2012/13 Champions League after being easily beaten by a Bayern Munich side who stand a strong chance of winning the tournament this season.

The Gunners needed to make a strong start after a surprise FA Cup exit at the hands of Blackburn Rovers, although the opposite happened against a team who are running away with the Bundesliga title this season.
Toni Kroos fired home an early opener for Bayern to stun the home supporters, while Thomas Muller was able to double the German side’s lead in the 21st minute after poor defending from Arsenal.
Those two goals took the wind out of the home team’s sails and they struggled to create a meaningful chance in the first half as Jupp Heynckes’ side demonstrated why they boast an amazing away record domestically this term.
However, just as it looked to be game over, Bayern inexplicably failed to defend a routine corner and Lukas Podolski was on hand to head home from short range against his former club.
Some respectability had been restored to the scoreline although the Arsenal goal did not change the balance of play, with Bastian Schweinstiger especially impressive in the middle of the park for Munich.
Arjen Robben was introduced as a second-half sub and the Dutchman found Lahm on the overlap who was able to feed Mario Mandzukic. The Croatian forced the ball over the line to give Bayern a scoreline that was merited on the balance of play.
