Arsenal 0 Manchester City 2 – Koscielny and Kompany see red at the Emirates
Manchester City have already confirmed they will be appealing against Vincent Kompany’s red card at the Emirates Stadium after the champions’ skipper was dismissed following a foul on Jack Wilshere was adjudged to have been a dangerous one.

The Belgian received his marching orders in the 75th minute although the visitors had already done enough damage against a team who were reduced to ten men as early as the 9th minute when Laurent Koscielny hauled down Edin Dzeko in the penalty area.
The Bosnian saw his spot kick saved although James Milner found a breakthrough with an angled shot shortly afterwards before Dzeko made amends for that penalty miss and City were in cruise control going into the break.
Despite the loss of Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero, City looked comfortable until the 75th minute when Kompany was dismissed and it allowed Arsenal to create a few late chances, with Walcott having his shot cleared off the line by Joleon Lescott after Joe Hart had been beaten.
Even so, the Gunners largely toiled after being outnumbered for over an hour and City keep alive their slim hopes of retaining the title, with Mario Balotelli making a late appearance.
For Arsenal, hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League look relatively faint at the moment and it appears that Mikel Arteta will be sidelined for several weeks with injury.
